coverage spotlight: Cal loses spot

It was an interesting article that highlighted the woes of a Cal team that couldn't get it done when it counted the most. He used excellent quotes from the playerts and coaches that were most directly involved in the last minutes of a game that will go down in the history books.

The journalist uses excellent comparitive facts that show how the Cal game effected other colleges as well as themselves. It gave a nice recap of the game and really brought you into the emotions of what went on that day.

Coverage Spotlight: Cal chases USC

I love how this article was written. Facts were put out on the table and strong opinions were voiced. The journalist is able to keep focused by using quotes from individual players from each team. Another strong element the writer used was his ability to put details of the program's history into the article.

The writer highlights Cal's rise to the number 3 position in the country as its highest ranking since 1952. These little details get a reader excited. He's able to capture the excitement Cal fans are feeling in one article
